Dating back to the late 1980s, Karakas began life as a beloved underground cellar bar — a hidden gem of warm candlelight and a legendary rose ceiling, created by its first owner, a Mexican artist known as El Diablo. Over time, the bohemian nightlife spirit evolved into a cozy comedy hub, truly taking off in the 2010s. Today, Karakas welcomes international communities with stand-up in many languages — a place to laugh, connect, and feel at home.
